Anybody else experiencing problems with Java again? I am unable to backup again and now if I cancel the backup it semi kills the session. I can click on menu items but no response from window. It eventually times out. I have two machines now doing this....

I've been resorting to using my virtual PC (Win7)

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

What release/PBX are you working on? What version JRE are you running?

4.2 10.2.0.26_2 7.0.170.2 java.

Another weird thing is...I set up filezilla server and saved to that, the file backed up and saved but the 3300 didn't recognize same and the backing up file dialog stayed on the screen....and doing the same on the other 3300 MCD5.0 and the same java version, file worked perfectly in back up to ftp server and then worked perfectly backup to disk....go figure....

KWB, I may try that soon, am getting royally pissed off with all these backup problems.....

Just as a further question to this does anyone know if there is any way of verifying a backup without actually doing a restore with it?

I had similar issues with java and doing backups etc, or at lease I thought it was java, turned out to be internet explorer.

To resolve I went to internet option, then advanced, then reset at the bottom. This officially resets all the setting in internet explorer back to original state.

Worked for me so maybe worth trying.

I have problems using anything newer than IE8. In IE8, add the IP's for your 3300's to your Trusted Sites and set the security level for them to "Low". That fixes a lot of issues. Also make sure Windows Firewall is either off or is set to allow incoming FTP (TCP on ports 20-21).

Also, if you have Windows 7 Professional or better, you can download Windows Virtual PC and XP Mode files from Microsoft and set up a virtual XP machine, and use that to back your systems up, it plays much nicer with older (release 9.0 and lower) 3300's.
