Java 1.6?

Hi all

I was about to update all of our clients to java 1.5 update 11 when i noticed 1.6 was available, i decided to deploy 1.6 but noticed that some of our software doesn't seem to work with it. We have some IP cameras that use java in IE since 1.6 they seem to have issues authenticating with the camera server.

Is it supposed to be backwards compatible with 1.5? I'm wondering weather or not to stick with 1.5 Update 11 for now?

I have had the same issue, some of our software works only with Java 1.41! Got both installed side by side but needs tinkering
