Japanese memo on English version of Lotus Notes 5.09

We have an english environnement Windows 2000 and we set it up for a japanese collegue to allow him to enter japanese caracters. (MS IME 2000). It's working find but when that person want to write a memo in japanese he can type japanese caracters in the to section of the memo but when he click on subject, the text that was in the to section move with the cursor un the subject section... and so on if he clicks on the body section.
Any idea ???? Thanks a lot in advance.
