I've a problem with Japanese language:
My programm is designed to run with several languages, e.g. German, English, Spain.... At runtime the controls are assigned texts for caption, hint etc. depending on the class. Those texts are read out of a text file.
Now I've added Japanese language; a Japanese guy did the translation. On his Japanese Windows XP the texts should appear as intended, but it works only with some controls, with some others not. E.g. it works with TMenuItem, TButton or TRadioButton. It fails with TGroupBox, TLabel or TBitButton, there the caption looks spoiled.
Japanese texts seem to be stored in UniCode (2 Byte / char) format. Apparently some controls manage to handle it, others not. Strange: TBitButton is inherited from TButton and shows different behaviour.
Does anybody have a hint for me ? I tried using WideString instead of normal string but no difference.
best regards
Roderich
