Jagged text in Photoshop (newbe)?

I am trying to get a brochure ready for the printer and the files must be saved as a tiff. I am getting a fuzzy or pixilated edge when using the photoshop text. How do I render it with a sharp crisp edge - I have tried all sorts of fonts and sharpness settings (this is 18 point type Times New Roman or Arial Black)

what anti-alias settings are you using? if you set the anti-alias to smooth or crisp in text dialogue box this should solve your problem.
