jagged text edges in raised text

I am creating a raised effect text in paint. it is about 150 points so it is large. i then want to import this into draw as a graphic but it has very jagged edges. i am using the "plastic" effect on the masked text with the mask inside the text and saving as a cpt image with the background removed so it looks like ordinary text. i also get the same jagged edges with "the boss" effect. how do i smooth the edges as its not usable as it is. im using version 10.

well, first question - what is the resolution of the image in photopaint?

Thanks. I cant beleive i didnt think of that. It was set at 72 by default. I spent so long on the graphic i forgot the basics. Thanks again.
