After creating a Logical Volume, I want to add a filesystem to this LV. The LV is of JFS2 type and the creation of the filesystem gives foloowing error :
j2_logform: failed in Stat(1)
rmlv: Logical volume loglv02 is removed.

Anyone had a similar problem ?
I can't find a solution for this.

Where running AIX 5.3 ML4

I have seen this problem before when the jfslog and the lv are not of the same type. Typically the jfslog is jfs and the the lv is jfs2. If you are creating the new lv on a vg that already has a jfslog, be sure it is type jfs2. The problem will typically occur when you have other lv's of jfs type on the same vg.

If both are new, and nothing else is on the vg remove the jfslog and lv and then try to recreate it.

Also, I think there is a patch to fix this, or go to a newer ml of AIX.
