J179's with H.323 VPN Firmware - Easier way to enable / disable VPN

Hello all,

I have a customer with a few users that work from home and the office frequently. We tried to sell them a phone for home and another for the office and just twin them however that is still a work in process.

Anyway, is there an easier way for the clent to enable/ disable the VPN Feature rather than: * to program > CRAFT > VPN Menu > VPN Enable / Disable > Scroll to the end > Exit > Exit > Reboot?

Why not using hotdesking instead of twinning?

Create a group section in 46xxsettings.txt or 46xxspecials.txt and put all VPN settings in that group.

Perhaps I worded the question incorrectly.

VPN Settings are all in the phones currently.

User will be working from home this week. They go into the VPN Menu and "Enable VPN". Phone VPN's back to the office and works great.

Now they will be in the office Saturday to do some work. They bring the phone into the office and now have to go back into the VPN Settings Menu and "Disable" the VPN. Phone works in the office.

They do this quite frequently. My question was, is there a way I can say program a button on the phone that will toggle VPN Mode Enable/Disable.
