Looking to setup a J179 through an SBC. Anyone have a cheat sheet or done this with notes?

Thanks Much!!!

THanks!

But i mean what are the settings on the J179?

JP

Thanks but i setup the SBC adn the phone to the WAN IP, a user in IPO and the NO User settings. But the phone keeps saying ACQUIRING SERVICE and I don't see it hit the SBC via TRACESBC?

THoughts?

No - I am trying to connect over the internet to the SBC's FQDN. I put that WAN IP in the SIP Proxy and it sites at AQUIRING....It never connects through.

FDQN in the HTTPS server address of the J179 is all you should need.

Assuming the SBCE, certificates, IP Office, etc are all setup corrctly of course!

I have done a lot (100+) of SBCE installs so perhaps I can help. But your question is not really specific. Do you have something else running on the SBCE already, like IX Workplace? Or is this a new install? Could you tell me more what you have done so far, what is working and what is not? Do you use IPO certs, 3rd party, or a combination of both? Is the B1 in a DMZ, what ports are open? Please share a much as you know.

Are you trying to acquire the settings file via HTTP or HTTPS
Have you opened or forwarded 80,8411,411,8411 towards the B1 Interface of SBC (depending on preferred ports option
Have you setup the relay in the SBC
Can you browse the settings file in your browser on a PC outside customers network

If you are using TLS then the phone needs to have the root certificate installed on the phone before it can proceed. So you will end up in a loop if you are trying to initially acquire the settings file via HTTPS without the root cert. Root cert SHOULD be found in ipoaddress/WebRootCA.pem and should download it if connecting via HTTP initially
