J179 Open phone

I have a customer that bought a J179 online that is one of the Open versions that works with ACO (Ring Central). Can we load the firmware to work as a SIP Standard phone. I have had no luck to this point and before I go any farther wanted to check if it is possible?

There is only one version of J100 software. If this is the OpenSIP hardware, then the software will not allow itself to be configured for use on IPO.

Usually when I have this issue on a standard J179 it is because it did not load the 46xxsettings file, but I think it is loading the file just not sure from the trace. I see it load all the language files fine. I will do some more digging.

I guess it might work with a 3rd party IP endpoint licence but that's about half the price of a phone and then there's the hassle of getting it to work.

Might be less grief if you just get the IP Office version.

It will also not be possible to configure call forwarding and other options through the phone and it will not be possible to configure phone buttons through IPO.
