I have a customer that is the latest release of r11.0. The customer has POTS (analog) lines & 9508 phones. The 9508 phones have no issues calling out. Recently another tech added 2 remote J179 phones. One at a location about 5 miles away & another at a location about 25 miles away. The locations are connected via a point to point VPN connection. Both J179 phones are having issues getting the wrong number when calling out. However, if they hit redial the number goes through.
I was able to duplicate this issue. In SSA the system showed it was dialing out the correct number. When I first started testing I could get the call to fail 100% of the time when I called my cell phone. I changed the codec to g79 than the call fail maybe 1 in 10 but never on the same line. The system was on the first release of r11.0 & the phones were not the correct firmware version. I upgraded the system to the latest release of r11.0 and the J179 phones are the correct firmware version for that release.
The customer is still having issues. I called tech support through our distributor and they said open a ticket with Avaya. Cannot do that because the customer does not have IPOSS.
Any good ideas of what to try next.
If your not going to it right don't bother doing it at all!
