Does anyone have any solutions that involve a hearing aid and a J169 h.323 phone? Have a very senior exec that has a hearing aid that is complaining the phone is too low. The volume is maxed out and it's not the phone. I see there are some settings in the menu of the phone under options/settings / advanced options / handset equalization. Has anyone used those?

Make sure AGC is off.

If you have MCC/SCC/G650 cabinets and DS1 trunks check the loss group between 13 and 18. The Avaya default drops a 6db loss between cabinets (they've never bothered to fix this).

Set a unique group number on the phone and try setting the ADMIN_HSEQUAL to 2 (Hearing Aid Compatible) or 3 (amplified) or you can try setting it on the phone for testing.
