J++ and Crystal 9 = many errors

Hi,

I develop in J++ using the WFC libraries. I've noticed that I'm getting an awful lot of Illegal operation error messages when using the Crystal Viewer ActiveX control. Sometimes these errors occur at shutdown. Sometimes they occur almost randomly when running a report multiple times.

I also use disconnected recordset objects that I pass to crystal. These error messages also appear to be sensitive to object lifetime and scope. For example, I use the form that contains the crystal viewer control as a child of a few different forms. If I keep the report form in scope across all of these forms, I can get rid of some of the error messages.

The thing that is really getting me though is an error message that only occurs on Win9X/Me. I can't get rid of it and it only occurs when the form with the crystal report is displayed. I was actually able to make the error message go away by removing all of the controls from the parent form but that is not an acceptable solution (not that it should have any affect anyway!)

Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Does anyone else use a J++ Crystal Reports combination?

Thank you for any suggestions!

I am also using J++ & the CRViewer ActiveX control. I am just simply trying to display a report in the viewer, but can't even get that far. Is there any good documentation on setting this viewer up?

I know nothing about Java or J++, but there is some sample Visual FoxPro code in an article on my web site. There is also more information on using the viewer in my book.
