I'm not able to find any "upgrade" specific docs on the support site. Can anyone give a very high level overview of a 10.8SP3 to 11 upgrade? We're familiar with all of the peculiarities of adding the SU/SP's to the existing 10.8 HA and have gone through SP1/2/3 over the years without issue. Is an R11 upgrade essentially the same thing just substituting the r11 exe instead of a SP exe?

ahhh...I see it's in chapter 15 of the server install guide and it does look like the same procedure. Also, can you install directly to R11SP2 or do you have to start with R11 before jumping to SP2?

Avaya redesigned HA redundancy on the consolidated servers in 11.0. It is true redundancy without needing a 3rd party. Carbonite availability is not supported by Avaya Messaging 11.0 and later. Avaya Messaging supports native backup /
failover for the Consolidated server on an HA installation. Carbonite must be removed from the servers as part of the
upgrade procedure.

You might be better off doing a migration. Keep in mind 11.0 in general is extremely buggy and Avaya hasn't released the next service pack. I'm on the latest and its been a nightmare with the amount of bugs I found. I would recommend trying the upgrade/migration in lab first. You need to upgrade to 11.0 and then upgrade to SP2.
