IWR Saving hotfiles

I have an Impromptu report based on a hotfile, this hotfile is based upon 3 other hotfiles, therefore i have to update 4 hotfiles before i can run the report.

hierarchicly it looks like this :

Final Report
|_ Hotfile 1 (requires prompt)
|_Hotfile 2
|_ Hotfile 3 and Hotfile 4

In upfront each hotfile newsitem has the Create a hotfile from this newsitem ticked and the hotfile name entered and is set to Run the preceeding hotfile automatically before running the report.

when the user runs hotfile 1 upfront/IWR creates a temp folder on the server In \\Server\Cognos Data\Reportset\hot and new hotfiles for hotfile 2,3 and 4 are created within this folder, hotfile 1 is updated in the hot folder, then the temp folder is deleted. (the original hotfiles 2,3 and 4 are not updated.

My problem is that hotfile 1 doesn't contain the new and updated data but only data from the original hotfile 2.


Any ideas why all of the hotfiles are not updated ?
Any suggestions on alternatives.

I'm getting ready to attempt a similar setup.
Using your structure, I would plan on turning your structure
upside-down and scheduling the #3 & #4 IWR's to run first, then, #2 (with dependencies on #3 & #4), then #1.
I would think that would provide the correct data.
