I've just installed an new ASUS A7N8X motherboard. Unlike my old SOLTEK board I cannnot get the usb keyboard and mouse to be usable at the start menues in XP boot. They are only recognised one into XP.
The ASUS bios does have an option to set the USB to recognise @legacy' devices but if I set these I then get a problem on boot saying "trying to verify DMI pool data".

Any suggestions as to how to get the KB and mouse recognised during the boot prompt pages?

Didn't mention if you have the lastest BIOS for it...which is 1004.
So start by updating the BIOS and then if that doesn't work , post back
