I was snooping around Warez sites not realizing how foolish that was. I didn't have a firewall, but I did have a system called CyberPatrol from Prodigy. I started getting dozens of popup screens per second, more popup screens than I could close and ended up having to get off the internet. Now I can't log on to the internet. All I get is a cyberpatrol stop page. I have since bought and installed Norton Antivirus and I still can't get on the internet. For awhile I was able to access it by clicking on my Outlook icon and getting my mail, and then clicking a link from there, but now I get an error message from there as well Here is the message:

The server responded with an error. (my e-mail address was here) Server: 'pop.prodigy.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: 'HTTP/1.0 200 OK', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

How do I fix this?

The error code 0x800CCC90 is a POP3 error code meaning the client response is invalid. You should recheck you whole mail account setup and if necessary set it up again.

This is probably a separate issue from your problem of not being able to connect to the internet. joegz
