All,

I dont work with IIS myself but its install on one of my servers as an application need it.

The issue I am having is with the IUSR_server name & IWAM_ server name accounts, for security reasons I need to delete these local accounts and use a domain account in "Authentication and access control" within IIS

Will this be ok to do or will ISS give errors after this change ?

IIS needs these accounts to function properly. If you absolutely must disable/remove them, you will need to create new accounts for IIS to use.

1. Create your new accounts.

2. Locate the adsutil.vbs script. This script is included in the \inetpub\adminscripts directory by default upon installation of IIS. If you removed the script for security reasons, you will need to locate a copy of it and place it in a temporary location on your server.

3. From a command prompt run the following from the directory containing the adsutil.vbs script.
cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set w3svc/anonymoususerpass "password"
cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set w3svc/anonymoususername "username"
cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set w3svc/wamuserpass "password"
cscript.exe adsutil.vbs set w3svc/WAMusername "username"
