I removed some cards from my computer and was amazed to find it full of huge dust bunnies threatening to destroy my data.
Make sure U turn it off, disconnect it from power and don't touch anything inside or get too close as most vacuums develop high static electricity on the vacuum tip. Don't forget to check all filters on front and back and make sure that all the fans are operating ok.
And while U are doing preventive maintenance, buy a case for that extra hard drive for a laptop that U have lieing around, and backup all your data to this hard drive and then disconnect it so no virus or trogan horse can get to it.

Or for extra fun:
Take 1 "Certified" Server Engineer + 1 Can of AirDuster - Common sense * Not enough time to ask permission for Powerdown = Kaboom, 1 dead quad CPU Core server.

ALWAYS POWER OFF !

Oh my little tip:

If using Vacuum Cleaner, take 1 pair of tights (pantyhose?) and put over nozzle. Then if you do suck up that bios jumper, you have a fighting chance of finding it again..

Stu, that's a good way to find a contact lens dropped on the floor too. :)

Now can someone tell me what this has to do with telephony? Or are we just supposed to pop open the PBX cabinet and start spritzing?

You know what, I notice it was in Telephony after I posted. Then again, we have some phone servers and VoIP Gateways, so kinda could excuse it...saying that a vacuum cleaner on £40,000 worth of cards...Nah don't think so...
