Its a bit of a long shot but ....

Has anyone ever done a Bilinear Interpolation on an image when scaling it down.

I am reading in a .tga file and trying to display a thumbnail but i am getting 'colour clashes' when i reduce the image size.

Please help If you can . !

Finding a pixel's color through Bilinear Interpolation is explained in Rod Stephens' book: pp205 - 207
Visual Basic Graphics Programming (2nd edition)
John Wiley
ISBN: 0-471-35599-2

He has a web site at: It may be worthwhile to have a look at the different samples (I didn't do it extensively) _________________________________

do i have to buy the book to find out or has anyone got a real answer .

A real answer? Boy. OK, DirectX 8 has functions that implement bilinear interpolation, and .NET seems to have the GDI+ API which includes it. Right now, however, it ain't easy or straightforward in VB, and rvBasic pointing you at a book that covers the subject (with links to samples) is probably your best bet.

I don't have .Net and NT4 doesn't support DX8 (?).

But, I think you are right - you can't do it easily/quickly in VB. I'll try C. ....

Thanks for your input anyway.

R.

Maybe now, my boss wants to buy me Win2k. !
