Why would an ITR phone work with a POE brick but not with the POE switch. One strange thing bout the phone is that the jack itself is facing up instead of the standard where the clip is facing down. Any tips would be appreciated.

I seem to remember some models of the IP phones had a switch underneath for brick or POE. Maybe the series E IP phone, but worth a check.

I don't see a switch there. There are a couple of jumpers. I wonder if any of them have anything to do with that. Have you seen the jack facing up?

I cannot find the info about the switch. It must have been on the early released phones in an older manual.
I have not seen jacks facing up. Possibly a phone for the Australian market?

Just because we are down under doesn't mean our plugs are upside down :)

OP, have you wiremapped the cable from the patch panel to the phone to see if it is a cable problem?

No offence, I just know that some software and hardware is a little different in other countries. It could simply be a manufacturing oops. Is the POE power up to spec?

The POE follows some standard and it may be that the switch has a poe standard that's incompatible with the phone's standard.
Also, the POE function might be fried on the phone and no matter what you do, it will only work with a brick. I've seen this on my property.
