The modem won't work on my NT 4.0 server. When my system boots I get an error in the event log: Source Itmodem, event ID 7, insertion string , COM 2.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Is it on the HCL (Harware Compatibility List)?
and do you have the latest NT driver for it.
Do you have another modem to try.
Call the manufacturer thats what they are there for.

I install modems alot on NT workstations (same Drivers NT is NT in that regard) and if they are not set up EXACTLY like the manufacturer says to, they will NOT work period.
so try removing it, the drivers and all and re-install it.

or put it in another slot in the motherboard. Of course Re-install Drivers is a must if you move it.
