Hi,
We're starting to use ITG2 for VOiP and looking for configs for the system. We have calls between sites but the cards are all configured differently. The documentation is not so clear.
Using a single subnet: do I set the Node IP the same as the Leader IP address.
Is the setting 10M Full or Half duplex.
If anyone has any configs, I would appreciate them. I know that Nortel recommends 2 subnets, but thats a luxury in some locations.

HI;

AS YOU KNOE THERE ARE TWO IPS.FIRST ONE IS ELAN FOE MANAGEMENT AND THE CONNECTION WITH THE PBX AND THE OTHER IS TLAN THAT THE VOICE USED.

SO AT YOUR LOCATION YOU CAN GIVE THE ELAN IP MASK ANYTHING ELSE DIFFERS FROM YOUR TLAN IP AND ALSO YOUR PBX IP(FOR ONLY ITG LINE YOU WILL USE PBX IP).

You should always use two different subnets. One is for ELAN which is for the switch/ITG2. The second is for the customer's lan (TLAN) in order to reach the distant ITG2 card. I assume you are talking about ITG Trunk card and not LINE card. You also have to know the distant ITG trk card IP Node address so you can program the dialing plan part. You must tell the local ITG trunk card where the distant end is through the dialing plan by puting the distant end IP address and the numbers destined for that distant location. If you are using only ONE ITG card in your switch, then you can use the Leader and Node as the same. I would not recomend it though. If you decide to add another ITG card to the Node late, then the Node IP would have to be the same on both cards but the card address must be different.

As far as the ELAN IP address, the Nortel switch cannot handle Broadcast messages fro the customer's LAN. That is the reason you should always use a separate subnet for the ELAN. Default for the switch is 137.135.128.253 (Option 11C) or 137.135.128.253 and .254 for the 51C, 61c or 81C.
