We have a CS1000M (option 81C derived) running 5.5 software it still has an old ITG trunk card providing H323 trunks between other CS1000s. Old yes but it works.

I need to downlaod a new dialplan to the card but everytime I try to transmit a dialplan from TM 4.0 it fails.

I have a telnet to the card itsself whn I try a transmit or retrieve and get:-

2008 6 28 06:50:47 (SNMP) :services_set: Setting file Lock
2008 6 28 06:50:47 (NMM) :Module 14 setting file system lock
2008 6 28 06:50:47 (NMM) :itgFileXfer: transfer type: TYPE I
Login failed.
2008 6 28 06:50:48 (NMM) :ftp connection cannot be established
2008 6 28 06:50:48 (NMM) :itgFileXfer returning with status ERROR
2008 6 28 06:50:48 (NMM) :itgFileXfer exited returing ERROR

I guess the login failure is the problem :) However not sure if this is a login failure FROm the card back to TM or TM can't login to the gard. I know the username/password for the card itself but don't ever remember configuring this in TM.

Any clues?

Also is there a way to manually pull the dial plan off the card, edit the file and transfer back?

regards
Clive

Hi,

yes a telnet to the card itself is fine with default credentials - it's that TM can't seem to correctly FTP the card - I telnetted to the card to get that output above....

Is it possible to edit the dial plan directly from a telnet session to the card?

or get the file off/edit manually and transfer back?

Have you changed the private and public passwords in the ITG card settings as this will stop you from retrieving any information.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

No not to my knowledge..... I assume they need to match the SNMP strings in TM?

Is there a way to print current ones from the card and set them should I find they are wrong?

I found an article that suggested an ITG card will throw out on the serial port on bootup it's current SNMP passwords.

So I connected up a laptop to the port on the card & reset it - but having gone through all of the bootup messages I don't see any reference to the passwords.

Does anyone know of a way to get the card to tell me what is set so I can set TM correctly.

I really don't want to do a clearLeader just in case I can't reload the config!

This has been solved now. It was not a problem with the ITG trunk card at all. But rather that the TM installation did not have the user ID & password configured.

This was found on the main 'Sites' Window Configuration->Configure FTP server needed to have the user ID & password of the TM server so that the card could use that to transfer the files.
