Hello,
I have 2 questions regarding ITG Line. Here is the first. The second is in another post and is of a more general nature.

I purchased a used ITG-P board to test in an Option 11c running version 25.40. This is a 2 slot ITG. When the board starts up the maintenance port outputs as shown below:

ITG Firmware Rls 4.0
8051XA Firmware Ver 9.0(Pentium) 9th June 1999
(C) Nortel Networks Inc., 1996-1999
All XA internal tests have passed
External RAM test has passed
32K External RAM detected
Testing Dual Port RAM...OK
8K DPRAM detected
Testing DS30 DPRAM...OK
Testing Dongle...No dongle detected
Programming PCI FPGA...OK
Programming DS30 FPGA...OK
Programming CEMUX FPGA...OK
Programming DSP FPGA...OK
Programming daughterboard FPGA...OK
Testing EEPROM...OK

Bank 0 Checksum - AFBEH
Suspend Power Signals O.K.
Pentium Power O.K.

At this point the LCD on the board shows 80CK and no other activity takes place. Does anyone know what the '80' references, as obviously it indicates a problem of some sort? As always any info is greatly appreciated.

do a control I as it boots, gives you a menu..i use nortel's website to search for codes.. haven't ran across that one

It doesn't respond to Ctrl-I at any stage that I have found.
I have also tried the jkl and +++ sequences without any response.

Testing Dongle...No dongle detected.. looks like a large watch battery.. not an option, must be present

John,
I believe from my reading that no dongle is required (at least with Ip Line 2 and up. I did put on a spare dongle to see if it changed the behaviour, and other than reporting the id number of the dongle I inserted the behaviour was the same.

thanks for the info, i tried to boot the 1st one i installed before i saw the dongle and it did the same thing, acted like i didn't have a key board. But it was a beta release.; if it will not crtl I, you can't get to the +++ screen. do you have a spare eprom you could try? wish i could be more help, but you've tried everything i can think of.

John,
How did you overcome the problem with your "beta" release? Also what eprom are you referring to? I am willing to try anything. Thanks for your interest by the way.
Dave.

on the original card issue there was a chip that you could pop off and replace, nortel support changed mine on site which caused the card to respond to my keyboard. but i was told that the eprom burn had to match the security device.

Almost there. It turns out that the problem generating the messages 80H etc were as a result of not having the ITG cable direct into the backplane port. I had plugged it into a male-female cable that was already therem thinking it was available as an extender. The confusion was caused by getting the partial output. In any case having solved that issue I have the board in and running on the 11c, thanks in no small part to excellent advice and assistance from firebird!! Thanks to him once again.

However I have one final (I hope) problem. Everything seems to be fine but when I plug in an i2004 onto the network and it connects to the ITG server it seems to be fine. The latest firmware downloaded to the phone. The LD 11 settings show up on the phone, etc. The ITG card sees the switch (pbxLinkShow), etc. but when I try to dial another internal extension or try to get an outside line I get fast busy. Curiously if the extension I am dialling is off hook then I get constant ringing, not going to voice mail. I even get the name show up on the i2004. Also if I put an existing DN from a regular phone also on the i2004 and someone dials that extension then the i2004 rings but will not answer.

I have obviously missed something somewhere. Does anyone have any experience or advice with this problem? TIA.

Problem solved. I had provied a bandwidth setting that was too low. As soon as I increased it I could get get dial tone, make calls, etc. I didn't expect that having it low would cause such strange behaviour.
