Hi we have Nortel PBX 3 sites, having release 4.5(61c)/5.0(11c) and 5.5(11c)...we are tieing these 3 sites using ITG ISDN trunk( using MC32), we already got all hardware and proper licenses from Nortel.

Need some field experience tips, advise and some critical considerations before deploying this solution.
Is there any critical data site consideration also required??

1- How many CLAN we required for 3 sites for ITG ISDN trunk
implementation using MC32/IP trunk?

2- Which Codec is recommended for voice calls? available
link is of 2MB for voice and data both.

3- We will also use Fax facility to send faxes across these
3 site..is there any advise to avoid any problem related
to fax transmission?

Any other advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks

CLAN or customer lan is the customer's network. its just a label... nothing more.

If you are going across 2Mbs link for both voice and data, then you might want to make sure it's not a Variable link speed and it's guaranteed at 2 meg. if the data rate floats, then you might have voice issues. QoS might not be supported on the Link but if you have routers at the link ends, you might be able to set it up for the specific locations.

fax is supported as T.38 protocol over VoIP. Not sure what you are going to use, but you will be limited to that and speeds of 14.4k and lower (i think)

G729 codec might be safer to use if you plan to have a bunch of calls to each site.

and if you have any PSTN trunking facilities, make sure you have it setup as a second choice (fallback on congestion etc.), that way you can have service, even if the WAN goes down.

you can search here for some well documentated problems with fax over itg.. some problems with multi page faxes. be sure to run a new dep list, you will need to update your patches to clean up itg problems, so put that on your todo list before sending traffic..

you can pass low traffic test without new patches. might want to check the cisco forum for port detail.
