ITG ip configuration

Hi,

I've got a Meridian rel. 4.5 with a ITG card installed. I would like to change the E-LAN and T-LAN IP adresses on the ITG card but I can't figure out how. Anyone know how to do this? I'm pretty new to Meridian.

Connect the itg card communication port to a PC and login into the card, itgadmin pass:itgadmin
All the command is in there just type ? or help.

Do I use either of the lan interfaces as the communication port or is there another port type on the card itself?

You could connect a monitor and keyboard to the front of the card.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You could connect to either the itg port or the db9 on the bottom. 9600/8/none/1

Do you have a sig server in the network? If so, I think all you have to do is change the addresses on the node page in Element Manager. The ITG card will do a BootP on the ELan and get the updated IP information.

Do you have a Sig Server or use OTM for configuration??
IF you have neither you will have to setleader and you can change the ELAN IP, but not the TLAN via the itg terminal port. You will have to set the TLAN via the sig server or the OTM computer

I tried the steps provided by 9201 but no luck. I'm unable to ping the E-LAN and T-LAN when connecting directly to the ITG card with an RJ45 cable.

I've got access to OTM. How to?

Okay I've managed to get telnet access to the ITG card and it's configuration. After changing the leader IP address however it appears that all other settings have been reset or deleted. Anyway there are no longer any ELAN og TLAN settings. How are these configured?

Do you have a signaling server and element manager with your 4.5 installation?

If so, the ITG card should do a BootP to get the ELan IP information from the SigServer (it acts as a BootP server). Is this an additional IP card for your switch? If so, you need to add it in Element Manager. If this is a replacement ITG card for an existing one, you will need to use Element Manager to change the ELan MAC address.

We don't have a Signaling Server and Element Manager. I've got OTM and CLI access to the ITG card and PBX. It's not a new card. We're reconstructing our network so I need to change the IP adresses.

CartenLP, Do you still have the Node configured in your OTM?
if so, CLI to your itg card, login;
IPL>setLeader "original elan ip","elan gw","elan subnet"

eg. setLeader "192.168.4.25","192.168.4.254","255.255.255.0"

then you put your network cables in the way it was.
you should be able to transmit the card properties to the card.
Now we have it back in it's old state.
If you want to change the TLan IP, change the settings of the card in the node configuration on your OTM, then transmit the properties to the card.

To change the ELAN, follow the steps above. but before transmitting the properties, change the ELAN ip of the card accordingly in the OTM node properties, then transmit it to bring the card up.
