Hi,

In Accpac 5.6, I'm trying to get a report that shows me the actual cost of our inventory for the whole year broken down into every month. (Jan, Feb, Mar, ...)

To do this manually I would run the I/C Item Valuation report for transaction costs as a summary. I really only need the total at the end.

The item valaution report is a datapipe report so it's a pain to work with.
How can I create my own report?
Can I use the item valuation report as a subreport somehow and just have it running 12 times for every month?
I just tried getting rid of parameters I don't need but all I get is "Failed to load database information - crdb-p2bpipe.dll could not be loaded.

Any advise much appreciated.

Are you a masochist?
You will have to create your own report from either ICHIST or ICIVAL. Start with the current balance and then deduct each month's net movement to get the prior month's balance.
You could also simply pull it from the GL.

Thank you!
Will have a look at those 2 tables.
Unfortunately I can't just get it straight from GL because the next step will be to have it seperated into item categories which has to come from the subledger.

OK, I've been looking at ICIVAL now trying to get my own report.
How do I get the current stock balance from this table?

When I run the item valuation report for the current stock value I'm interested in the actual costs.
So I'm thinking I need to add up ALL entries in ICIVAL.TRANSCOST right from the beginning for my own report.
By doing that I only get approx half of the value the item valuation report shows me.
Do I need to add in quatities as well or am I adding up the wrong field?
How do I get my current stock balance from ICIVAL?

oh, now it seems to work with ICIVAL.TRANSCOST.
Dunno what was wrong earlier.
