Item Cost not updating on receipt

Anybody know of any reason why when a purchase order is received (standard or drop-ship) corresponding orders (linked for drop-ship, orders w/ the item for standard) don't update their item cost?

This is causing it to look like salespeople are selling items below cost, when in fact they are not.
 
If this is non inventory items you are talking about this is a bug. The manual states that it should be doing what you've described above but it doesn't do it.
Microsoft deny that it should be doing this despite what the manual says.
I've got round this by writing my own trigger to correct this.
 
Figures that MS would deny a bug - most big companies do until the miraculously fix it.

I may have to do the whole trigger thing - where did you put the trigger - as an UPDATE trigger on the Item table (the one that contains the cost)?
