Hi, I have been a Norstar tech since the DR1 and I want to thank all of you whom have responded to my questions. What a great way to talk to other techs! But, At the risk of sounding dumb, I see reference to ITAS and I am not familiar with this term. Can anyone explain.

That's NORTEL support and that will cost you some $$$$

And, most of the real good ITAS folks have been laid off.

ITAS is no longer.
It used to stand for International Technical Assistance Service.
After several reorgs and name changes.
First level support is now called GNTS.
Second level support is now called GNPS.
GNPS is where the old ITAS engineers still employed by Nortel work.
GNTS for Norstar/BCM is based out of Utah.

Thanks for the input. Can you call them (for a price of course)or must you partner with Nortel. And I wonder what the cost is?
Wayne

You must partner with Nortel.
In the old days this was difficult but nowadays Nortel seems willing to partner with anybody.
They are getting deparate to raise sales.
I think this is a last ditch effort to bring in revenue before the VoIP revolution kills Norstar.

I believe the quota for official partner is $100,000.00 per year.....
