Hi Guys,
syuuser.dbf it is the table that has the user id and passwords, of course other fields as well, SBT does not allow me to rename and existing user id, so i was trying to see if i can do it in the table but the field for "userid" is encrypted, the problem is, that i have a few users, using preexisting user ids and for hence those users id do not identify the actual username, so i would like to be able to make one for them as similar to their name, anyway the other way will creating a new user id from an existing one to be able to copy all the privileges, but that will have to be done when the user i am going to copy from is out of the system, is there anyway to rename a user id ?
Thanks in advance
Ernesto

Why go through all the trouble.?
Get everybody out and in 3 seconds create new user with copied privileges.
From my recollection, you don't need anybody out of SBT.

Hi Edgar,
the problem is i copied the privileges from one user to another one and because you need to select different application ID in order to copy all the privileges, i thou that by just copying one user privileges to a new user, will copy all privileges but not, you need to specify each individual application id from the existing user(source user) to the new user, so it is time consuming, second no all the users have the same privileges so i don't think it is 3 seconds, unless you have a different way to do this, that i don't know it, will be nice if you share the fast way to do it thanks Man.

It would be helpful to submit your findings to help others in this forum. Be as detail as possible.

Well, the faster way was actually using the SBT option from the File menu and select "CHANGE USER INFORMATION" from there just follow the steps, so i guess Edgar that was what you meant from the very beginning.
Thanks
Ernesto
