I need some help with some APC UPS problems I'm having at work. First of all I need to be able to calibrate UPS's (APC Matrix 5000s) that have production boxes on them. By production I mean enterprise firewalls and switches among other things. I want to know if it is safe to get a calibration from these devices knowing that it must drain the battery very low before giving me a reading.
Next I need to know if anyone has successfully been able to monitor and control a Matrix 5000 from ISX Manager of if this is simply not possible. People here seem to think so, but APC has no documentation on it, and I have yet to see an answer anywhere else.
Any ideas would be helpful.
