I have 2 passport 8600 like core, and several 470 and 8100 with smlt. All with version 3.5.5.1.
Several questions:
1.- Opinion about this version 3.5.5.1.
2. Two days ago i create in the first 8600 a vlan, i gave a ip (for routing), and i aggregate to the ist fiber port. One minute later the other 8600 down the node where i create the vlan. Logs told me LOOP DETECT. I down the node and, i cleared loop detect and i disable the option loop-detect for ist. When i started it the same chasis told me loop detect in a stack of baystack 470. Now i have a network with only 8600 like core.

did you check the mlt/dmlt status of your 470 stack?

Hmm.. Check the MLT config on the 470 stack, there has been a bug where MLT config has been currupt when powerup and down.


The bug has been fix'ed i new software.

Well, reviewing the configuration i have just to see that the IST ports dont have the vlan IST create for the comunication between the two 8600.
I think this explain the Loop Detect but i cant explain why this vlan disappear of the trunk port, in fact this vlan is the only who disapear...?? The logs only tell me MLT INFO smltIstSessionDown. Perhaps Device Manager??

Also i would like to know ur valoration about 3.5.5.1

3.5.10.0 is current release on 3.5 sw.
I run 3.7.6 on some PP, and they work perfect in HA mode. (L3)

If you don't have any problems, or issue.. Why upgrade ?

How long uptime do you have ? Do you use LACP ?

2 CPU's ? what type 8690/91/ ?
