our cs1000 pbx. Voicemail is locked down to dial out to only a few direct numbers. Our phone bill has multiple calls of 5,000 minutes plus and they are all inter-state calls. We are being charged 3 cents/min and the charges are adding up. We have since blocked these numbers (deny on pbx), purchased RSI CDR software and changed our access codes. After implementing these changes, the blocked numbers are still appearing on the new bill and not being captured in the RSI CDR database. We have tested that the numbers in question can’t be called from our pbx. We have also made sure all incoming/outgoing calls are being sent to the rsi database. We were able to determine most numbers in question are owned by Comcast. We believe that we are either being scammed by Verizon (accounting issue) or we have an issue with calls not being disconnected (voip) by the pbx (not reflected in RSI)??

at a previous job, we had the same thing happen to us. We went 6 months with an outstanding bill close to $300K. We let Verizon come in and take a look a the system. They kept telling us that it was our issue.

Then one day we were informed that the bill was processed in error, a the CO and corrected and removed from our bill.

If they keep pressing that it is your system that is doing this, have your maintenance provider come in an audit your system, and then offer to let Verizon come in an audit your system (with direct, constant supervision) and see what they find.

It's really the only way to clear it up.

Thanks you so much for the response. We have have exhausted too many resources on this issue. Our PBX maintenance vendor has done several audits since this issue has started. Our next step is to have someone from Verizon monitor the switch at the CO and hopefully trap the calls, even though our PBX does'nt allow them.
