Scenario: Windows XP w/SP2 or SP3 clients & Win2K8 R2 Domain controllers. We have configured group policy, to set permissions on certain folders. All parts of the group policy are applying, except for the folder permissions part.
Setting permissions in Computer/Windows/Security/File system and choosing "Add", selecting the folder and then setting permission as per the MS technet article, BUT, none of the permissions are changing on the folder in question.
I have tested GP by running gpresult, and also by changing other elements in GP and it is refreshing/changing appropriately, except for the piece I need to change.
We are attempting to give users admin rights to certain folders because we have a few home-brew apps which require admin rights, but we don't want to give full local admin to whole machine.
