Recently I've come across some odd issues with bridged call appearances. One Admin. Asst. stated that shortly after adding this bridged appearance of this new hire to her phone, his phone would ring and hers too at the same time, but only briefly. Not long enough to even catch caller id. and when she went to pick up that call, no one was there.
At first, we thought it could have been prank calls....but I tested it from my cell phone and only certain calls would be completed properly to both phones. I was close to replacing her phone thinking it was her...but I had already replaced his. But before replacing hers, I removed those bridged lines from her phone and the issue stopped.
A few days later, I added them back in but on different buttons...and so far...she's had no issues.
Some time has passed and about two weeks ago I was working on a ticket that, at first, didn't turn on any lights....there were a few Admin's for this one person with his line bridged to their phones. One admin's phone was chirping and calls were being missed. Because so many admin's have each other's lines bridged, including this person's line, I told them that it was working as designed because more than likely he was on his first line and a second call was incoming causing the chirp. But just a few days ago it resurfaced. Seems the more these two Admin's talked about the issue....it was sounding more and more like the issue I had originally. So, I moved the bridged line from where it was to two other buttons on this girls sidecar....and so far calls to that line have been pretty good. But today, she stated that the other Admin was out today, this Exec tried to call her on her line...which is bridged to the first Admin's phone...she tried to pick it up and no one was there...it just kind of chirped and nothing.
So, I moved HER bridged line to the two buttons above the other two I moved the other day. I tested a call to this line and this girls phone rang on the bridged line like it was supposed to and she was able to answer it.
So, it's odd that bridged lines are created...but soon after that, calls to those bridged lines don't seem to work properly. But moving those bridged lines seems to let them work as they should. Has anyone every heard of such a thing? and if so, why would that happen?
