Issues with adding a primary key

Hi I have an existing registration form that won't submit after simply adding a primary key to the table. Shouldn't the column just auto_increment as new registrations come in?
 
That would completely depend on how the table as defined.

If the field that is defined as the primary key is set t autoincrement, than it should. But if its not set to autoincrement then it won't.



If you get an error, it be nice if you posted it so we may take a look.
