Cognos Impromptu (version 7.1.724.0)
A couple of things I could do with pointers on;
1)
I have this version on a desktop machine used solely for scheduling reports to created.
The machine is on it's last legs and could give up the ghost any time now - so we've brought in a brand new machine to takes it's place (more CPU, bigger RAM etc)
I installed Cognos on the new machine, and copying the 'Schedule.mdb' from the old machine to the new causes some rather strange behaviours!!
On the new machine, when I start up the scheduler it asks whther I want to 'convert' the schedule database. Accepting 'Yes' to this the scheduler opens and begins to operate.
However, during the database conversion process, blank (or Null) values can be seen in the 'Task File Name' column. These contained valuese prior to the database being converted, as I could see them if I opened the file within Access!!
Anyone had anything similar to them, and if so, what did you do to resolve it? I'm stumped!
And secondly....
2) Any way to actually open the scheduler and pause it lock stock and barrel! Whenever I open it, there are so many jobs queued to execute, I can't get to each job to set it to inactive !!! Is there a global setting that I can use to pause the thing?
Thanks in advance.
Phil
