I'm new to the encryption arena & I'm having some problems with PGP & Novell's Groupwise. PGP is loaded at the workstation level and not on the server.

I have checked PGP's website, Novell's website & read the PGP instruction manual for email encryption. I'm obviously missing something. [cry]

When encrypting an email that has an attachment I have to:
1) Save my attachment to a local file, encrypt it there.
2) Attach the encrypted file to the email.
3) Encrypt the email portion.
4) Send the email.

When I receive an encrypted email that has an attachment I have to reverse the process in order to decrypt the attachment.

Is there a way to encrypt and/or decrypt the email and any attachments in one fail swoop?

Absolutely you can do it all at once. You simply need to use an e-mail client that supports pgp. I use xfmail on unix. I'm not all that familiar with Windows mua's that support pgp, other than that I know Netscape's specifically does not. I'm pretty sure outlook can be made to work with it somehow, but I think it requires a specific version of pgp to be installed, not sure.
