Last night I installed on two of our systems the BCM.R400.SU.Desktop.012 and BCM.R400.SU.System.017 patches which were released by Nortel on December 15th. After installing these the "Get New Updates..." and the "Add..." buttons under the Software Updates section no longer bring up the pop-up screen that allows you to enter the download information. When you click the buttons you get the hour glass for a second or two and then nothing happens. I scheduled the software downloads on one of the two systems so both of the patches were applied. The other system however I updated manually with the SU.System patch first however when I then wanted to install the SU.Desktop patch I could not. Both systems have the same issue. Other BCMs that have not yet been updated are fine. I tried re-installing the new cartriges, rebooting the PC to no avail. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?

I downloaded the latest Element Manager from Nortel's website and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the fix I have the same issue

It's only dialtone-VZ

An interesting thing happened after I updated another BCM that I thought I'd share with you. After applying the patches I would AGAIN not get the configuration pop-up screen when pressing the "Get New Updates..." or the "Add..." buttons. I though the issue was with the older version of Element Manager I was using but even the new one exibited the same behavior after completing the application of patches. Re-installing the Element Manager got it working again. It appears the issue exists after manually applying the SU.System.017 update. I think if you use the Scheduled Updates you may be alright. Applying the SU.Desktop.012 didn't seem to affect things.

I'm having the same problem, I've reinstalled element manager and changed my java with no success.

I have installed the Nortel Element Manager rather than the BCM Element Manager and it works. You can find that on Nortel's website.

I had to uninstall Element Manager from my computer and install the latest Element Manager, and i got it out of the BCM that i just updated.
