Here's something I've noticed while running Spider Solitaire in WinME. When the cards are initially dealt, they go very slowly to their places. However, if I run Outlook Express in the background on it's main page, the cards deal and move very fast. Another issue is that if I am in my Inbox in Outlook Express, the cards resort back to moving very slowly. They only move fast when Outlook Express is on the main menu when it starts. Anyone else have an issue with this. My computer is a Compaq Presario 7000. Thank you in advance.

Have you tried simply connecting to the Internet [dial-up only] and then playing Spyder? Could it be an Internet game?

Spider Solitaire is not an Internet game. This is just something I noticed while playing the game one day. I was hoping that someone would possibly have some insight as to why this happens. Thanks anyway.

Audray : Have you tried turning off the Card ANIMATION.
From GAME on the toolbar select OPTIONS and untick "Animate cards when dealing. May be the answer

I tried unticking the animation and the spider game is super fast

I too suffered from slow dealing in Spider. My wife plays this a lot, then one day she complained that it was dealing slowly ??. I found this thread but could not make any difference.

Today by chance I changed the mouse pointer from Windows Standard to 3D animated, just for a change. As if by magic Spider is now dealy super fast again.
To check this I changed back to Windows Standard mouse pointer and again slow dealing.

I have no idea how or why this should happen, but it has cured my problem in that I now have a happy wife again.

I hope this helps somebody else.
