Hello, I am trying to create a folder called Backup on my server that will only let 3 users have access to it and for them to be able to create folders with inherited permissions. The Share has the Everyone Group with Change and Read Permissions, all 3 users have Modify Rights with NTFS settings. Here’s my problem, because I cannot remove the User Group any user has access to the folder which I don’t want.

Is there another way to do this? I am pretty new to this and from my studies most material I have read say’s to leave the Everyone Group in the Share with Change and Read Permissions then lock down the folder with NTFS Security. Thanks so much for any replies!

There's two issues, who can access the share, and who has security rights to it. Give the Everyone group full share rights to the folder/share. Right click on the share and choose Properties. Click on the Security tab. That's where you can add/remove/edit security permissions. If the share/folder has a parent, then that parent's rights transfer. If you don't want those rights to transfer because you need to change them, when on the Security tab click on the Advanced button. Uncheck the box that say's "inherent....". If prompted, choose Copy to copy the existing security settings. Then, edit those settings as needed.
