We have a support ticketing system that runs on a linux box and utilizes email piping withing the builtin email server. I am having difficulties getting our Exchange server to send emails out to that server. I created the domain as an Internal Relay domain. I cannot get the server to properly send email to accounts on the other server. I have a send connector setup that routes to the other server, but if I use the dns name the messages get caught up in the queue, and if I use the IP address, I get a cannot relay bounce. (I have limited access to that email server, running cpanel, I have full access to the exchange server.

If you telnet to the linux server on port 25 and try:
helo oi.com
mail from: valid email address
rcpt to: valid email address
DATA
Subject: Test

including the dot. Does the email arrive? Is the Linus box set for anonymous access SMTP or TLS?

is
550-currently not permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not
550-logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP
550 Authentication turned on in your email client.

ok, the Linux server is set to require authentication first. Change that to allow anonymous SMTP and it should work.

On a cpanel box, any idea where that's at? That is all I have access to on that box.
