Issue with ph sys rebooting

We have an ARGENT BRANCH 2.2(65) which is restarting at random intervals and cutting everyone off. Our Supplier has been unable to fix the problem so far. Does any one know from the below excerpt what could be wrong?

Could be a virus on the network. Have you tried disconnecting the unit from the lan and seeing if you still get the problem.

Virus's like blaster can affect the phone systems as they send malformed icmp packets that can cause the systems to reboot.

2.263 had a issue with the pot phone module , so Avaya brought out 2.2(65) this was worse and caused issues with the buufer filling up causing the units to re-boot....


Its and oldie but goodie...

ans go to 2.2(1070).....and collect £200 for passing go.

Have taken the switch off the netork and connected it to a single PC with the system monitor running. Still having reboots every 30-40 mins. This rules out a virus on the network so will look at upgradeing to 2.2(1070). Will let you know what happens.
