Issue with Maintenance plan and trx log backup...

I'm having 2 problems on the same box here- recently installed MSDE 2000 on WinXP Pro box and now have SP2 loaded. When I create a database maintenance plan, I can get the DB backup, Optimization and Integrity checksto work but, the trx log backup continues to fail with an error: "Executed as user: sa. sqlmaint.exe failed. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 22029). The step failed." It's backing up to the same directory as the DB backup so it can't be a permissions or access or password issue.

The other problem I'm having is, when I open the existing DB Maint. plan, all of my settings are blank and I have to re-enter them. Also, the trx log tab is identical to the DB tab. For some reason, the DB backup form is showing under both the DB tab AND the trx log tab.

are u backingup all transaction files of all databses....?

Check the recovery model of the databases. If it is set to SIMPLE, then no log backups are allowed.
