Issue with Links

I have a spreadsheet which contains links to another one. When I open it, it says it has link and do i want to update them, I click Yes, save and then close. When I re-open it, it asks me again. It never used to do this, can anyone tell me why? Excel 2000.

Hi,
In Excel 2002, you can open the doc, click on Edit | Links. In this dialog box, click Startup Prompt and make a selection about the popup message.
