issue with downloading from iseries to excel

one of our users (just one) has an issue when he tries to download from the iseries to excel.

he gets a popup about installing the com component, and sometimes it can stay at that prompt for 5 minutes or more before finishing.

it also appears to go thru a list of IP addresses when installing the com component. the one screen capture he did of it shows "installing com component" and underneath is an IP address, and curiously that IP address isnt from our local domain.

any suggestions?

I can always reinstall client\access, but apparently we did that once before and the problem has reoccurred.

Sounds like it might be exiting the network to look for that data. Check the proxy settings on the local machine. If you're using a machine name, make sure dns is working or that machine is in the host table.
