One extension use to have the SA Ring highlighted so when a user picked up the handset, he would either dial 9 or ext number? How does one go about setting back this setting?

Thanks in advance!

you can try auto line select under cntr programming
**touch the sa buttons in the order you want to use them then **

Thank you. I got that far but each time I got to the selection of page 1 page 2 I lost it. Thanks!

You don't need to select a page - just click on one of the Line buttons or SA buttons - choose list feature, choose autoline select, press the buttons in the order you want and press enter.

Tom, I have always seen you reply to many threads in which are correct and informational. This should be easy for you.

User picks up handset, it picks up outside line, no need to dial 9. All the threads/google search I fine talk about a route number or something like D? or /D. I cannot remember.

So, how to set extension when user picks up handset, they get a dial tone, not intercom.

Thanks!

OK - is the system in KEY mode or Hybrid/PBX? If the buttons say SA-Ring, etc. - the system is in Hybrid/PBX mode - meaning the default button lit red is the bottom left one (SA Ring-I). I am assuming you are in Hybrid/PBX mode. If you want them to get immediate dial tone - without pressing a 9 - you need to put a Pool Access button on each phone - and set autoline-select to choose that pool button first. If you add a pool access button - it will (by default) be the 4th button up. If you want it to be the 3rd button up - as in KEY mode - you would need to first delete the SA-OO button (3rd one up) and then add the line pool button. I f I am wrong in my assumptions - let me know.

You are correct it is a Hybrid/PBX system. The phone is a 4406D+. The 3rd button as you stated is on after the help of jim1964. The pool button is set to blank. I tried looking to see if I can add the pool button in the GUI Telephone Programming section of WinSPM. I did not see any option for pool, just system access, system shared, etc. Same applies when I try to access via Standard SPM. As you can tell, I do not have much experience with programming phones but would like to become more knowledgable at it.

To add the pool button - or for that matter - to do any programming - get out of the GUI by clicking on Standard SPM.

First decide if you will be removing the default 3rd button (SA-OO). If so - you will need to remove it using centralized programming for each extention.

If not - then click on system program, start, extentions, lines/trunks - key in the first extention number you want to add the pool button to and press enter, click on entry mode, keyin 801 and press enter - and click on inspect. All lines in Pool 70 should show up. Click back, back - and repeat process for next extention - or use line copy option.

After finishing go into centralized programming, program ext, keyin the ext number, press the Pool 70-I button (it will be button 3 or 4 depending on whether you removed SA-OO), press list feature, autoline select, press the pool 70-I button and press enter. Press back, back and repeat for the next extention number.

Thank you once again! I actually needed to use Pool 891 because we have 3 trunks on our PBX. Only issue I had was when a call came in, it did a slight ring but that was taken care off changing the all lines ring to no ring. Thanks again, your the man!
