Hi team, we have a new client on board with Avaya IPO installed by someone else, they are having the below issue, they are running R11. I think it's CPE related at site B, below words from clients

• Desk phones can call all other sites with no issues but the Dect phones have issues when ringing the Remote-Site-B (the call connects but neither side can hear anything).

• Calling all other sites are fine, it is just to Remote-Site-B.

• Can call another phone number fine but if transferred to Remote-Site-B the issue is there.

• This is if the Dect is calling a desk phone or Dect at Remote-Site-B
(or if site B calls the Dect phone which is at Site A).

• Troubleshooting shows it is not the DECT phone as it works fine at other sites but when taken to Remote-Site-A it fails.

• Apparently, this has been like this for the last 5 years but nobody told us until now.

What type of SCN connection are they using at Remote Site B?

So typically audio lost (one way or no audio at all) is a networking issue. You said the DECT phones have this issue but deskphones do not... what kind of deskphones? The reason I ask it is quite possible (and often likely) that SIP_ALG is causing the SIP phones to fail but the deskphones (assuming they are digital or H323) are not affected. You should verify both sides of the link between sites has SIP_ALG turned off. If you confirm that you can also turn off "allow direct media path" on both the IPO line and extension and re-test.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
