Issue DND on NEC 7400

Hi all, first off happy New Year to everyone,

I am having an issue at client, where they have a NEC 7400 and a lot of their guest rooms have have DND status on their phones and when you call the room number it gets redirected to the operators phone.
All the phones in the room are analogue.

Does any one have an idea how to shut it off, my guess is they dialed a code and the features got activated.
Is there a code we code we can dial on the analogue phone ans shut it off or do we need to do it from a NEC phone? IF so what are the steps and codes?

Is this an old NEAX 2400 ICS? Does it have the Hotel/Motel package? Do you have a PMS system integrated?
If this is a 2400 of any generation, access codes are assigned by the engineer that programmed the system and can be arbitrary, or follow a template designed by the original installer.
H/M software is somewhat different and it determines what command is used for the codes. The commands are different than a Business system.
If you have a PMS, then it can be done with that software.

It might be a 2400, but when we usually open the nec with the software it has 7400 on it, don't remember if it says pc pro 7400.
Will check if there is a pms
Unfortunately the engineer that installed is no more.
A question does this system usually have a standard dnd code or do you always have to program it.

If there is a pms, how can we then disable the dnd.
Is it possible for you to send the steps?

You always have to program in the access codes. As for a PMS, that is up to the PMS program. There is no generic operation. Usually when you check in a room it turns off DND and outgoing restriction.

once you have cleared the DNDs you can disable the feature in the extension's feature service class.

Hi Guys,

We managed to solve the NEC 7400 issue using the operator console phone NEC SN716 DESK CON A-C with the SN718 DES CON C-A connected to it

below are the steps to shut the DND off

1. Press the DDR (DND Reset) Key.
2. Dial the station number.
3. Press the Enter Key.
4. Press the Exit Key.

Turn it back on

1. Press the DDS (which is the DND SET) Key.
2. Dial the station number.
3. Press the Enter Key.
4. Press the Exit Key.

It work on this, so we got got lucky
